Europerf Wheel Skin

When I bought my 4Runner it has 12,000 miles on the clock.  Apparently the previous owner had some kind of wheel cover on as there were some small scratches in the stock leather steering wheel.  I presume some bozo at the dealer I bought the 4Runner from used a razor blade to remove the steering wheel cover and carelessly scratched the stock leather wheel in several places.  I looked at having the entire wheel replaced but a new leather steering wheel costs about $1000 and I never could find a decent one in a junk yard.  I had a $50 gift certificate to Performance Products so I decided to use it on one of their Europerf steering wheel covers to see how it would do.

For this modification you'll need:

Europerf Wheel Skin
Patience
About 2 hours

To install you just place the skin around the steering wheel and lace it up with the thread and needle provided.  The edge of the skin is double leather and very strong and has holes evenly spaced around the circumference for the needle and thread to pass through.  The instructions are clear and easy to follow, it just takes time to get it finished.  The main thing is to thread it VERY tight.

I'm not usually a fan of steering wheel covers, but if your 4Runner doesn't have a leather steering wheel this is a pretty good option.  The fit is great, it feels nice, and is very well made.  It also makes the steering wheel slightly more comfortable as it's a little thicker.
